The active ingredient in BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified form of the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. When injected into the muscle, this substance causes the surrounding muscle tissue to relax, eliminating wrinkles and creating a softer, more relaxed appearance. BOTOX® Cosmetic is most commonly injected into the forehead, glabella (between the eyebrows) and "crow's feet". Restylane® Facial Rejuvenation

Restylane® is a dermal filler that uses hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the human body, to fill deep folds and creases such as nasolabial folds. Our San Diego patients love Restylane® because unlike other dermal fillers, Restylane's® active ingredient is not derived from an animal source. This means that there is no need for an allergy test before you receive a Restylane® treatment.

The hyaluronic acid used in Restylane® works with your body's natural moisture to retain its shape. When Restylane® is first injected, almost all of the volume added to your features is composed of hyaluronic acid. As the substance degrades over several months, each molecule of hyaluronic acid binds to a molecule of water. This means that rather than a gradual decline in facial volume over time, Restylane® provides consistent volume for nearly six months at a time.

Sculptra™ Facial Rejuvenation

Sculptra™ is a injected into the skin for restoration and/or correction of facial fat loss. It consists of a synthetic material known as poly-l-lactic acid, which is biocompatible (a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body). Poly-L-lactic acid has been used for many years in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants & other types of implants.

Sculptra™ provides a gradual increase in skin thickness, with visible results appearing within the first few treatment sessions. At the first treatment, it may appear that Sculptra™ worked immediately because of the swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra™. In a few days, once swelling subsides, the treated area may look as it did before the injections. Sculptra™ takes time to gradually correct the depressions in the skin. You will need to follow-up with the Doctor in a few weeks to see if more injections are needed.

The most common side effects with Sculptra™ include injection-related side effects at the site, such as bleeding, tenderness or pain, swelling, redness or bruising. These side effects can last 3-17 days.

The results from Sculptra™ treatment can last up to 2 years, with possible touch-ups to maintain the desired effect."
