In most cases, medical insurance will not cover plastic surgery that is for cosmetic purposes only. Some surgeries that might be eligible for full or partial insurance coverage include:
- Breast reduction If the size of a woman's breasts is causing chronic neck and back pain, the plastic surgery cost may be covered by insurance.
- Blepharoplasty When vision is partially or completely obscured by drooping eyelids, insurance may cover the cost of an eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty.
- Rhinoplasty Insurance may pay for nose surgery if the nose was damaged in an injury or accident, or if the patient has a congenital defect that hampers breathing.
Patient Payment Plans
To help each of our prospective patients afford plastic surgery, we offer a number of financing options at our San Diego Plastic Surgery Office. By partnering with a local credit union, we are able to offer 100 percent financing, not including the price of anesthesia. For your convenience, we also accept Visa®, Mastercard® and CareCredit®.
If you choose to pay for your plastic surgery through our financing plan, you'll appreciate that we've made every effort to simplify the process with as little paperwork as possible. After you complete the application, it is faxed to the financing company for processing. Then, when you come in for your pre-operative appointment, all the loan paperwork will be waiting for you there in the office.
We work with multiple lenders and offer a number of patient financing options. Before you apply, we encourage you to speak to one of our Patient Care Coordinators.

- With CareCredit financing, there are no up-front costs and no pre-payment penalties
- CareCredit covers operations anywhere from $1,000 to $25,000
- CareCredit provides No-Interest Payment Plans for 3, 6, 12, and 18 months, as well as Extended Payment Plans with interest rates starting at 9.90%.
